Carnival Miracle July 4 Cruise Review – Part One: The Ship

By Dave | July 13, 2008

I will be dividing my cruise review into several sections. I will talk about a different aspect of the cruise in each post. Today I will start with the ship itself.

We sailed on the Carnival Miracle. I already knew I would love the ship because we sailed on a sister ship, the Carnival Legend, last year. These two ships are part of Carnival’s Spirit-class of ships. This is my favorite class of ships. The layout is great. I knew where everything was.

The ship was always clean. The staff did a great job with this. I didn’t see empty cups/plates all over like I have on past cruises. In fact, there was a surprise USPH (public health) inspection on our cruise, and the Miracle scored a 100 out of 100! That’s how clean our ship was.

Carnival MiracleThe staff onboard were all friendly and very helpful. In a later post I will talk about specific staff members who made the cruise extra memorable. But for now, I will say that overall the staff were very friendly.

The lounges and public areas were all nice. The pool areas didn’t have the wooden floors, but designed floors. If I can find a picture, I will show you what I mean. I don’t remember this on the Legend, but maybe I’m just forgetting. The Phantom lounge, the main lounge, was very nice. My only complaint was with the upper section. There were not many good seats up top. The glass shield put in front of the front row seats in front of aisles were right in the way. The metal bar on top of them blocked the view, especially for shorter people. Aside from that, no complaints.Carnival Miracle

This was the first Carnival ship I was on with mini-golf. Unfortunately we never played. But it was nice to know it was available should we want to play.

I believe that is it with the ship’s review. It was just what I had expected it to be, with a couple surprises, which I mentioned. Stay tuned for more reviews to come.
