More Fuel Supplement Increases
By Dave | June 18, 2008
Following the lead of Carnival Corp’s second fuel supplement increase, Royal Caribbean (along with Celebrity and Azamara) have increased their fuel supplement charges. Through June 29, the current fuel supplement charge of $8/person per day for the first two passengers and $3 for any extra passengers will remain in effect. After that date, any bookings made after June 30 will have a $10/person per day fuel supplement charge for the first two passengers and $5/person per day charge for any additional guests. Also, the maximum charges are not to exceed $140/person per cruise for the first two passengers and $70/person per cruise for the additional passengers.
For the sake of the cruise lines, I hope these will be some of the last fuel supplement increases for a while. It will be these supplemental charges that will turn cruising into a luxury rather than an affordable vacation.
