I Have PCD

By Dave | August 6, 2008

PCD (Post Cruise Depression) is what I’m going through right now. With nothing booked yet and with a cruise just ended, it’s hard for me to get into the groove right now, which is why I haven’t posted in a little while. Hopefully we will book another cruise soon so I can get back into posting.

Either way, I’m posting today because of some exciting news (for me at least). A thread was started on Carnival’s online forums about the port of Philadelphia. For a little while it was just some members, myself included, talking about why Carnival should sail out of Philly. Well, the Carnival rep who posts on the forums finally responded to the thread. She let us know that she has forwarded our comments to the appropriate people in Carnival. This is very exciting. Maybe we will finally see some headway on having Carnival start sailing out of Philly. It wouldn’t start for a couple years — at least until the Dream and/or Magic come out — but hopefully it will start eventually. There used to be quite a few cruise lines that sailed out of Philadelphia. Now only one (NCL) does. And it’s one of their smaller ships too. Double bummer for me…

I will definitely keep everyone updated on this news as soon as I find anything out.

Your experience with posting on boards and your comments being forwarded to “appropriate” people at the cruise line, reinforces the importance of filling out the comment cards at the end of a cruise.

Comments by passengers are taken seriously and many times suggestions are studied and actually implemented.

Sorry to hear about your case of PCD, there is really only one cure, book another cruise, and quickly!!

The PCD is hard, which can be seen in my lack of posting. But I’ve decided to try to fight it and try to post. I’ve been visiting every day, but I haven’t had any inspiration, like I did prior to the cruise (and after we booked back during winter).

And I agree completely about filling out the comment cards, and in general just letting the cruise lines know what you’re thinking. I’m not sure about other cruise lines, but I know that Carnival does read every comment/suggestion thrown their way.
