That's a good idea. If I were to do a back-to-back cruise, maybe I'd wait until the ship is switching itineraries. That would be fun.

My apologies for another post, but I just read my previous one and noticed an error. In my haste, I failed to proof read and saw that I wrote "easter" instead of EASTERN Caribbean.

Also in regard to keeping the same cabin, that might be complicated if you booked at a date close to the sailing. Many times blocks of space are sold far in advance and it is possible that your cabin might not be available for the next cruise. If you book far enough in advance, and book both cruises at the same time it's more than likely that you will get the same cabin.

Dave,

I remember back in 2000 when I sailed SS NORWAY for the first time. We met a couple and family who had been on the ship for a week and were on her for another.

What they did was cruise a western Caribbean one week, and the ship changed to an easter Caribbean when we were on her. They took advantage is this scheduling to see different ports over two weeks.

In your case, I'm sure it could be arranged to have the same cabin steward and dining room wait staff. Cruise lines really work hard to accommodate requests and this is not asking too much.
